Zentraveler on Forest Bathing!

Forget the Norwegian Strong man contest, the Gamers Marathon or multi-tasking in the electronic age and go back to the caveman environment if you want to be smarter not dumber.  Studies have proven that multi-tasking slows down the brain and can even burn out the brain.

Enter the new field of FOREST BATHING which simply means you learn to hug the trees, listen to the trees and watch your stress level drop out of site. You don’t need a new pair of Michael Jordan Tennis shoes for $375.00, jock tight bicycle outfits, golf clubs, helmets, designer jeans  or even high tech bird watching binoculars.  All you need you already have in your closet or if you don’t have anything… you can Forest Bathe in the nude.

We live in the virtual world, but we need the wild is even more true in today’s chaotic lifestyle.  We all heard the phrase stop and smell the roses, can’t see the forest for the trees.  This is all leading up for you to save yourself from burnout by spending more time in nature.

It doesn’t matter where you live you can always find a green area, city park, national parks, river walks, Appalachian trail and even the Darien Gap for the adventurer.  Each tree is special and has its own Aura.  A  colored emanation protective circle above the tree.  Simply stare at the top of the tree against a blue sky and soon you will experience the trees Aura.

A new study suggests that by talking to trees and getting away from the technical age the brain can be fifty percent sharper by Forest Bathing.

So there you have it.  If you want to save yourself and society take up Forest Bathing and can even be a great pick-up line.  You introduce yourself and invite whoever on a Forest Bathing outing.  Who could possibly turn you down on such an offer.  Maybe the Grasshopper he’s been Forest Bathing so long he’s  smarter than the average bear and has been hearing this pick-up line for years.  However there’s always a chance you could get a Forest Bathing date with the Grasshopper.

QUOTE: Shinrin-yoku The Japanese practice of ‘Forest Bathing’ is scientifically proven to improve your health.

THINGS YOU MAY NOT KNOW: Forest Bathing is defined as making contact with and taking in the atmosphere of the forest. What sets forest bathing apart from simply taking a walk in the forest is that we consciously take in the sights, sounds, smells, and the whole experience, rather than allowing our minds to do the things they habitually do, like putting together a mental grocery list.

Results of a study of 280 subjects conducted  found that forest bathing was associated with lower levels of a stress  indicator called cortisol, lower pulse rate, and lower blood pressure. The participants of the study had decreased activity in the part of the nervous system that activates when we are stressed and increased activity in the part of the nervous system that activates when we are relaxed. Relaxing like this is crucial for good health if you consider the fact that chronic stress reduces immune function and makes us more prone to depression, heart disease, and other disorders.

THINGS YOU MAY WANT TO SAVE: Trees…They are a lot more than they appear.  Watershed, Shade, Human, Animal and Bird feed, natural antibiotic, shelter, bird nests, wild honey bees, ants galore and more.

ZENTRAVELER SAYS: STOP BEING A TECHNICAL GEEK AND GET BACK TO NATURE.  HAVE YOU HUGGED A TREE TODAY, IF NOT GET WITH IT AND GAIN SOME BRAIN POWER.
