Traces of human settlement in Nha Trang date back to the Cham Empire, though in times of Vietnamese rule, there wasn’t much more here than small fishing villages. The French recognized that this beautiful bay, with its islands and white sand beaches, made for a perfect bathing spot, and began the transformation into a resort town. American soldiers agreed, and Nha Trang became a favorite R&R stop during the war.
Nha Trang is a hidden gem half way between Ho Chi Minh city and Hanoi. You can arrive by train, bus or fly and there are accommodations to suit every traveler. The food is wonderful beyond your imagination, the weather is spectacular most of the time and the Vietnam people are friendly making Nha Trang one of Vietnam’s best tourist destinations as well as a retirement center.

You can book several mud-bath resorts just outside the city limits complete with swimming pools, restaurants, and spa service or book a mud-bath right in the heart of the city where you are treated like royalty…complete with silk dressing robes after your shower.
Want to keep in shape how about walk along the beachfront all the way to the restaurant on the north-side have a cup of Vietnam brewed coffee with fresh grilled fish and veggies. Then use the parks free exercise equipment and walk all the way to the end toward Vinpearl Resort cable-car. On the way back you can stop at Central Park with a myriad of excellent swimming pools and a poolside restaurant. Toward sunset meander to the Louisiane Brewhouse and take a swim for a couple hundred dong, relax on a beach chair, play a game of pool , watch the beauties stroll by and maybe have a few brewiskies to top it off. Go back to your hotel freshen up have a European or Vietnamese dinner and finish the evening at the Sailing Club or dancing salsa at the local Spanish restaurant.

Its main beach is a long, curving stretch along Tran Phu Street backed by a promenade, hotels and seafood restaurants. Cable cars cross over to Hòn Tre island and the Vinpearl Resort, with a golf course, water park and fairground.
