Zentraveler on Life is a Do It Yourself Project!

Life's Architect

Do you want someone other than yourself to create your life….make all the decisions and you lay around like a Greek god over-eating and over-drinking and just become a drag on society? I don’t think so!

You have one life and since when you were born you did not come equipped with a life manual and you cannot go to Wal-Mart and find a do it yourself manual with your name on it… then it’s up to you to select the best do it yourself project you can imagine and get on with it.

An elderly carpenter was ready to retire…

One day, he told his employer-contractor of his plans to leave the house building business and live a more leisurely life with his wife, enjoying his extended family. He would miss the paycheck, but he felt he needed to retire. They could get by, he thought. Upon hearing the news, the contractor was sorry to see his good worker go. He asked the carpenter if he could build just one more house as a personal favor. The carpenter said yes, but in time it was easy to see that his heart was not in his work any longer. He resorted to shoddy workmanship and used inferior materials. It was an unfortunate way to end his career.

When the carpenter finished his work and the builder came to inspect the house, the contractor handed the front-door key to the carpenter. “This is your house,” he said, “my gift to you!”

What a shock! If he had only known he was building his own house, he would have done it all so differently. Now he had to live in the home he had built none too well.

So it is with us. We build our lives in a distracted way, reacting rather than acting, willing to put up less than the best. At important points we do not give the job our best effort. Then with a shock we look at the situation we have created and find that we are now living in the house we have built. If only we had realized, then we would have done it differently.

Think of yourself as the carpenter. Think about your house each day you hammer a nail, place a board, or erect a wall. Build wisely! Even if you live it for only one day more, that day deserves to be lived graciously and with dignity. Who could say it more clearly? Your life today is the result of your attitudes and choices in the past. Your life tomorrow will be the result of your attitudes and the choices you make today. source: sciforums

So there you have it. We have all been given special talents at birth and it’s up to us build a quality life! Why not come up with a do it yourself project that helps all of humanity. It’s a start!

Zentraveler on the health benefits of the Lemon during flu season!

Lemon, common name for a small thorny tree, and for its fruit. Lemon trees are cultivated throughout the tropical and subtropical regions of the world, particularly in Italy, Spain, Portugal, and California. Lemons were first brought from the Middle East to Spain and northern Africa during the Middle Ages. The cultivated lemon is probably a hybrid of two wild species, most likely lime and citron.

Health benefits of lemon include treatment of throat infections, indigestion, constipation, dental problems, fever, hair care, skin care, internal bleeding, rheumatism, burns, overweight, respiratory disorders, cholera and high blood pressure. Known for its therapeutic property …. lemon helps to strengthen your immunity system and cleanses your stomach. It is not only a blood purifier but also enables body to fight diseases. Lemon juice, especially, has several health benefits associated with it. Useful for treating kidney stones, curing heart strokes and reducing the body temperature, lemonade helps you to stay calm and cool.

As we all know this is the worst time of the year to come down with the flu, bad cold, bronchitis, pneumonia, and the list goes on. If you are running a fever lemon will help by making you sweat getting your toxins out of your system. It’s also very effective against sore throat… many professional singers rely on lemon and honey as a daily tonic.

We have all heard of the virtues of vitamin C and I personally believe this is the first step one needs to do if you get any of these diseases. In addition to taking plenty of vitamin C you should take plenty of pure lemon juice (also rich in vitamin C plus a host of other properties.) in your drinks and teas.

A little different twist is to take pure lemon juice (from real lemons) in any form and either drink it straight or mix it into your hot tea with honey. This is one of the most effective natural methods to aid in the natural healing process known. If you only had to choose one item, including all the cough syrups, lozengers, over the counter drugs, and prescription drugs this little known secret The Lemon… might just be what the natural doctor ordered and could help to a speedy recovery.

THINGS YOU MAY NOT KNOW: Lemons are thought to have originated in India, though they were known in ancient Egypt and Greece as well. Arab ships brought lemons to Europe during the Middle Ages, and Columbus brought them to America in 1493, as they were used on long voyages to prevent scurvy.

THINGS YOU MAY WANT TO SAVE:Lemon seeds! Grown your own lemon trees and utilize nature’s pharmacy.

ZENTRAVELER SAYS: When the first sign of an infection begins use pure lemon daily to help nature in the healing process.

Zentraveler treks to Malagros Garden Resort, Mount Apo, Philippines!

Bird and Animal Show

As we traveled outside of Davao City you could not help being aware of all of the greenery and lush agricultural fields as far as the eye could see. As we headed higher and higher we were nearly overwhelmed with all of the local exotic plants and trees as we got closer to our destination. We passed bountiful fruit stands loaded with every kind of fruit you could imagine. Making several pit stops to purchase these exotic looking fruits… the inside of our rental van looked like a fruit basket itself!

Local Fruit Stand

On our first days adventure we arrived at Malagros Garden Resort and attended the live bird and animal show and had a great local smorgasboard loaded with some of the best tasting topical fruits I had ever seen or eaten… complete with a local band to jazz it up. You could also spend quality time with your camera taking fantastic shots of rare topical plants and just enjoying the ambiance of the clear mountain air. I looked in one large tree and saw air-plants the size of small tents. Every nature path you took had a kaleidoscope of new and exotic plants to grab your attention.

Albino Water Buffalo Singing

Malagros Garden Resort is a full-scale nature resort complete with lodging, exotic gardens and orchids and a good place to stay a few days and enjoy the cooler climate and watch nature’s explosion right in front of your eyes.

Native Tribe Dancer

This is a great resort for the entire family … you sit in an outdoor arena and are being entertained and educated about the local animals, birds and folklore! This is an excellent example of what a resort can do to help save our forests and protect our wildlife! The bird handlers were excellent and the local native tribe dances added a great asset to their presentation. On a scale of one to ten I would give them a 9.9 for an excellent animal and bird show and recommend this opportunity to any travelers in the Davao area.

Nature's Flower Garden

THINGS YOU MAY NOT KNOW: Our planet is like a great magnet that have poles at the top and bottom, located near geographic poles. It create a powerful magnetic field called “the magnetosphere”. It protect the Earth from big amount of solar winds and radiation. So we should be really grateful for such protection.
